Drew is going to attend 2 different preschools this year. He started his new one this week on Tuesday and Thursday. We chose to put him in this additional preschool to help him get used to a larger classroom size, longer day(prep for Kindergarten)and it also takes place in a gym with 45+ minutes of gymnastics. Our thought is that the gym exercise will address his need to be active in the winter and in turn help him stay focused on school. We have noticed in winters past that his attention span and cooperation level go down in winter when he is less active. We will see how that plays out.
His other preschool, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, is the same he has been attending for the last 2 years and is associated with his school district. He knows his teacher (she is awesome!) and has friends in his class that he will attend elementary school with. The difference this year is that they moved the preschool from one elementary school to the other in the district which is an addiditonal 10 minutes away from our house. We have been to the classroom a couple of times now and Drew seems unfazed by the change there.
To try to reduce confusion we call the first one "gym" and the second one "school".
In September, Mirra will start a Mom's Morning Out program that she will attend during the school year. It meets every Thursday. The social experience will be good for her and the break from me will be good for us both (grin). I will have a 3 hour window each week in which I can set appointments, run errands, or hide in Starbucks with a good book if I choose.
So the kids are all squared away. But now we have 3 different snack schedules, permission slips and field trips, 3 different fund raisers, 2 different classroom volunteer schedules, 2 different school holiday schedules, 3 sets of policies and procedures, 3 open houses, and transportation for all. My head is swimming. I know in three to four weeks I will have it all down but at times all these little details are a bit overwhelming.

We went to Drew's second open house at "school" on Thursday night. Mirra and Drew had fun playing with Lilly, who is his teacher's daughter and about 7 weeks younger than JJ. They were all so cute playing around the classroom and having a snack together.
