Our Little Romeo
When I picked Drew up at preschool today his teacher told me that he really liked this little girl, Aurora. Aurora is an adorable little girl with strawberrry-blonde hair that rides Drew's bus. Their teacher said "He REALLY likes her. When I turned around he was kissing her."

That's a New One
Drew often develops attachments to certain objects. Those objects then follow us when we eat out and must accompany Drew at bed time. Many of you are familiar with his "carspaget" or otherwise known as the basket containing his large collection of Cars. Other items included a stack of ten books and various stuffed animals.
Well, last night Andy and I were trying to figure out what "mustard Emile" was at bedtime. Emile is a character from Ratatouille. OK. So what does mustard have to do with anything??? Finally Drew showed us a box of oatmeal with some other Pixar characters on it....Monster oatmeal. Yes, the box of instant oatmeal with ALL NINE PACKETS would be needed to fall asleep.

"Point" of View

I always find it amazing the things we can learn from our kids.
If asked to describe the star shape, what would you say?
It has 5 points, right?
When discussing shapes with Drew yesterday he said that a star had 10 sides. Wow Buddy, you're right. Just a little reminder that one thing can be seen in many different ways. Sometimes it is nice to change your perspective.

One thing, then another, and another
First our electric skillet broke its handles. Then the blender died. Then the DVD player. The lid to the crock pot broke and I cracked the decanter to the Bunn. Now the keyboard to the Mac is not working. Possibly due to an encouter with Drew and some type of beverage. We hope to salvage it. So the photos are on the Mac and I can only type on Andy's laptop. So the blog will be in an interesting disarray until we can get things back in fair working order or replaced.
This photo is Drew clearing a path around his racetrack (a.k.a. the kitchen table). I don't know how to post a vertical photo on here. If anyone can school me, feel free. Anyway, Drew lined up the chairs away from the table so that he had a clear shot to race his cars around it.

Rocky Start to the New Year
A friend of mine from Eastern lost her dad suddenly last Friday. I have so many thoughts about this I can not list them all. We lost Andy's dad in much the same way 9 years ago. For those of you who pray, please include one of strength for Kristi and her mom.
My dad's side of the family celebrated Christmas together on Sunday. On Monday my Gram was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. The doctor thinks they caught it early so we are hoping she will recover soon. She is 85 and has e-mail (I'm so proud) and checks this blog every day for pics of the kids.
Mirra came down with a cold on Christmas Day and it had been getting progressively worse until today. I spent two nights sleeping in the recliner holding her upright while we slept because her chest was so congested she couldn't breathe well enough to sleep in her crib. Last night she slept through the night in her crib so we are hoping the worst is over. But then Drew woke up sniffling and coughing this morning....
We wish you all a great '08
