Drewisms

While waiting in the movie theater for Wall-e to start, Drew leans over and says "you're my very best friend Mama."

Drew got in trouble the other day. He had climbed up on some boxes, retrieved all of his reward stickers and proceeded to stick some on the wall. When I confronted him, he calmly put himself in time-out. When I went in to talk to him and reiterate why he was in time-out he looks me in the eye and says "take a deep breath."

This isn't a straightforward Drewism but I found it amusing. We were at the park yesterday and Drew was playing with some girls on the merry-go-round. I am pushing Mirra in the swing next to him and another mom and her daughter are next to us. At the merry-go-round they are exchanging names. I guess Drew wasn't paying full attention and says "I am four" instead of "I am Drew". I chuckle a bit and correct him. The mom next to me tells me how she and her daughter were at the gym that morning and her daughter hops on the scale, looks at the weight display and says "Look mom, it says my name is Ava and I am 3. You get on." The mom replies "That's OK. I already know how old I am."

Mirra On The Move

This was recorded on the Fourth.

We had a nice Fourth of July. My parents spent a few days with us. Drew was very enthusiastic about the fireworks. Mirra even liked them. Drew just didn't like the noise of the bottle rockets we set off at home so he found some ear muffs in the garage.

On Saturday I ran an errand. When I came home Andy pointed out Mirra who was pretending to talk on the phone. Very cute. She had pushed a few buttons, mostly 9s and 8s but had not dialed as far as we could tell. We then took the phone away saying that she can't call 911 or China. We later went outside to play with the kids.

While we were outside a county sherriff's car pulls up our driveway. Yes, Mirra had called 911. They had tried to call us back but we were already outside. We apologized profusely. Not sure that the Sherriff was amused.
