Oh, To Be 5...

While Mirra was settling in for the night she began spelling...p-o-o-p spells poop and b-u-t-t spells butt.  I looked at my darling husband and mentioned her comic fascination with anything related to butts or farts.  He said "I know.  I'm the funniest guy around."

Mirra then giggled and broke into an original song that goes a little something like this "I'm going to p-o-o-p on my parents."

I said "I think if someone pooped on me I would vomit."

Apparently that crossed the line.  "EEEEWWWWWW!  That's gross!" was her response.

Kids Got Talent

 

The kids both participated in their school's talent show last week.  Mirra submitted a piece of art "Penguin in Red Ice Skates" drawn in marker and crayon.  Drew boogied to the James Brown song commonly known as "I Feel Good."  They did a great job!

Both of their teachers were there too.  Our family is very thankful for these extraordinary ladies!

Ice Skating

Drew has been asking me for a couple of months to go ice skating with Aunt Anita again.  We managed to go today.  Drew took right off and made a couple of new friends.  Mirra was not so sure about it at first.  She said she didn't want to fall and wanted to go home.  She took our hands and skated around and got more comfortable.  About 10 minutes before we left I told her I wanted her to try to skate without holding on.  She got pretty excited and zipped around.  Both kids decided they would like to go again.

Trepidation...
