Multi-Lingual

Almost every week we go to this one Mexican restaurant to eat. The service is quick, it's affordable, and their salsa is the only tomato-based food Drew will eat. When we walked in a couple of weeks ago Mirra greeted the familiar staff with "Hola!"

Another time we were in the car and Mirra said "Ni Hao Dada. Ni Hao Mama. Ni Hao grunt" (which means Drew in Mirraspeak). Ni Hao is Chineese for hello. She had heard it in passing on a cartoon and retained it.

Maybe I should rent some language CDs and put those in her room at night...

Earlier this year I reconnected with a friend from college. A couple of months ago she found out that her young son had a form of leukemia.

Today she sent word that he is in remission! You are a trooper Doolin!!!
