No. We are not moving to a new house. Our blog is moving to a new location. Bear with me while I figure out the new format, etc., but you can see recent pictures and stories at our new website:
http://milesmarker.webnode.com//
There is a homepage and tabs for the Photo Gallery, Blog, and Guest Book. Just click on the Photo Gallery to see pics of the kids in their new dance classes. Click on the Blog for this year's Santa photo or leave comments on the Guest Book Tab.
I'm not sure how much storage I have here or if I can make it work for us, but considering how negligent I have been on this blog, I figured you were due something new.

School
I volunteer at my kids' school one day each week. I spend the morning
in Mirra's kindergarten class and the afternoon with Drew's third grade
class. I always get a hug or two and get to hear some witty remarks. At third grade lunch when "Tag. No tag backs," came around to me I told them that I am immune to tag because I have a no-tag force field around me. When one of the boys tried to use my line, Drew said "I can use my super breath to blow your force field away." I love that boy and his friends!
This year the school got this big, shiny, new printer. The
problem is that in four weeks I have yet to see it actually work
properly. I walked in last week and this sign was taped to it. Hilarious!
Drew's
teacher asked me to do some copies today but said the paper would not
run through the big printer. I told her that I don't play with Bob
Marley anyway.

In case I don't say it enough, I LOVE my children's teachers! Their dedication to these kids inspires me every time I see them. They communicate with me all the time and I am a real pain in the butt. I just love knowing that my kids are in good hands even when they are not in mine.

Last Year of Single Digits
Drew had a Cars 2 pool party for his birthday.
He had several friends at Aunt Anita's community pool.
Gluten free pepperoni pizza at Monical's. Then we spent the rainy day at the nearby indoor inflatable playground with Uncle Terry. The kids had a great time jumping and playing basketball.
Birthday ice cream. M&M blizzard with chocolate ice cream for Drew and Marshmallow sundae with chocolate ice cream for Mirra. They maybe got a gene from me after all with all that chocolate.
Andy and I got Drew a pitchback, Cardinals shirt and baseballs. Here is Drew playing with his pitchback. Drew also got a pitching machine and Cardinals shirts from Grammy and Papa. He got several LEGO sets that he is determined to complete. He even bought LEGOS with his gift certificates and birthday money.

Our Five Year Old
Five years can fly! Here is Mirra on her first birthday. Awww!
Yesterday we celebrated Mirra turning five years old. She chose a Strawberry Shortcake theme and chose the flavors for her cake: strawberry cake, with fresh strawberries inside, whipped icing, and fondant. We also had chocolate cupcakes filled with whipped icing and vanilla cupcakes with raspberry filling. Many of our family and friends spent the day with us.
Mirra and her little friends got dolled up at Lemon's Stylin' Salon and contemplated joining the Berry Band. They played a strawberry toss game and won suckers. Even some of the adults played this one. Mostly the kids just ran and played and laughed. Our baby is such a lucky girl to have so many wonderful friends.

Drewisms
Our 8-year-old son is not intimidated by driving 30 miles an hour or even flipping upside down in his race car. However, upon entering a dark room he asked his 4-year-old sister "You'll protect me from the dark, won't you Mirra?"
Aunt Anita told Drew that he was growing up fast and would soon be taller than her. He told her he wouldn't get taller than her. "That would hurt your feelings," he told her seriously. She assured him that wasn't true.
Last week Drew told me that he was not going to school. I asked him why. "Because I'm retired," he answered.
