"I fix Drew's bike, Dada."

Yes, that is exactly what she said.

You Might Be a Redneck....

...if part of your stacation involves sprint cars on a dirt track:)

Mirra and I joined the boys at the track this week. The county fair was going on so I took Drew to a couple of rides. It was fun to see the kids enjoying themselves. My dad was able to meet us, which made it even better. Drew's favorite driver, Dave Darland, got third place in the final race.

Mirra kept running away and Drew would chase her.

Then Drew would pick her up and bring her back...

...which didn't seem to bother her at all.

A Sample of Daily Dramas

After brunch yesterday I started cleaning up the kitchen while the kids went upstairs to play. During this time a friend of mine called and I talked to her for 10 or 15 minutes. After we got off the phone I went searching for JJ, who I noticed had been silent for some time. I thought she was still up in her room, but no. I couldn't find her anywhere upstairs. Then I started to panic that she had gone outside without me hearing. I eventually found her in the basement, on the floor, totally covered in her pink sleeping bag....asleep.

While I as making dinner I had Drew help me crack a couple of eggs. Mirra decided she wanted in on the action and dropped the last egg on the kitchen floor. "I crack egg, Mama." Since I was out of paper towels in the kitchen I headed off in search of the spare roll that travels around the house. I told Drew there was a mess on the floor. "Be careful not to step in it and please try to keep your sister out of the mess, too."

Drew solved the problem by placing the trash can directly on top of the cracked egg on the floor. Well...he did what I asked.
