Drew has been very excited about his star birthday cake that he picked out. He even helped me make the cake and do the decorations.
After the party most of us went to Aunt Anita's neighborhood pool and we swam and sped down the water slide. It was a blast.
That night Drew, Papa, Uncle Bee, Andy and I went to the sprint car races. Mirra stayed home with both Grandmas. It was great to see Drew at the races. He is more attentive than I have ever seen him. He watches the cars and notes who wins. He is REALLY interested in it. After the races the track put on a nice fireworks show. We told Drew it was a special birthday treat for him. I know, we're stinkers. It backfired though. It was the closest we had ever been to fireworks in our lives and the close proximity unnerved Drew a bit.
Overall it was a very fun and eventful day.
Thanks to everyone for their presents and, most especially, their presence. And a special thanks to my parents and Andy's mom for all their help with the house and the party and the kids. All the things they do, unasked, are greatly appreciated and really made the day enjoyable for us all. We love you!
